Regenerative Health and Nutrition
A preventive programme for healthy lifestyles that strengthen the body and mind and prevent disease.
Regenerative health is the attainment of optimal physical and mental well-being through holistic healthy lifestyles that strengthen and renew the body and mind and prevent disease.
The Regenerative Health and Nutrition Programme is a preventive and promotive programme begun by the ministry as the logical step after health insurance. Over the long term it is meant to cut the cost of lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer and gout, all of which are rising.
The programme draws on the experience of an African Hebrew community living in Dimona, Israel, adapted to Ghana. Its aim is to lower the risk of disease for individuals, households and communities, towards a healthier and more productive population.
