Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate
Leads the development of the ministry's policies, plans, programmes and budgets, and the systems that check whether they work.

- Policy coordination
- Starts and coordinates the development and review of the sector's policies, strategies and regulations, and leads the design of sector plans.
- Planning
- Coordinates the preparation and harmonisation of the sector plan, and guides its implementation.
- Budgeting
- Coordinates the preparation and harmonisation of the sector budget, and guides its implementation.
- Collaboration
- Develops the private sector and inter-sectoral strategies, and finds opportunities to develop the health sector with them.
- Resource mobilisation
- Develops the financing options for the ministry's policies, programmes and projects, and leads the sourcing and coordination of external funding, including for health commodities, services and works.
- Quality management
- Develops the sector's quality policies and standards, to make treatment more effective and patients more satisfied.
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Designs and runs the systems that assess whether the ministry's strategies and interventions are working.
The directorate reports to the Chief Director. All directorates.
