Develops the policies for the sub-sector, and designs the licensing and regulatory schemes, standards and systems that govern it.
Research, monitoring and evaluation
Creates and reviews the research behind policy, and monitors and evaluates the industry's activities.
Information and communication
Develops the strategies and platforms for discussion, education and public awareness of alternative medicine.

The directorate reports to the Chief Director. All directorates.
