Scam alert
Fraudsters pose as NIA officials to take money from people applying for a Ghana Card. Here is how to tell, and what to do.
Fees are paid to the bank, never to a person
Anyone who asks you for cash, or for payment to a personal mobile money number, is not acting for the authority.
What is true
- At a district office a first Ghana Card is free if you are under 25, and GH₵30 if you are 25 or over.
- Premium Centres charge more. Every fee is set by law and published.
- Fees are paid at a CalBank branch, with the CalBank app, by dialling *771#, or on another approved payment platform.
- No official takes payment in cash or to a personal mobile money number.
