Get, replace or update your Ghana Card
The National Identification Authority registers Ghanaians at home and abroad, and foreign nationals who live in Ghana, and issues each of them a Ghana Card.
A first Ghana Card is free for under-25s at district offices
It is GH₵30 if you are 25 or over. Only Premium Centres charge more, and fees are paid to the bank, never to a person. How to spot and report a scam.

Does your organisation need to confirm who people are?
Since June 2026 a Ghana Card must be checked against the register, with the holder's fingerprint or face. Looking at the card, or photocopying it, is no longer enough.
