Today a card is replaced in person from start to finish. These pages show how the first part could be done online. Nothing you type is sent or stored. How to replace a card today.
Before you start
You will need:
- a police extract, which you get by reporting the loss, theft or damage at a police station
- your Ghana Card number, if you know it
- a phone number for text messages
It takes about five minutes. You still visit an office once, to have your fingerprints and photograph taken and to collect the card.
What it costs
GH₵200 at a district office, or GH₵520 at a Premium Centre. You pay after the request is approved. Replacement fees.
