E-government
Four goals for e-government across every ministry, department and agency: connected government, an informed citizenry, open data and open government partnership.
The ministry runs projects that give citizens and businesses easy access to government services. Each is chosen to spread e-government across the MDAs, which improves service delivery and drives transparency, accountability and good governance.
Programmes run by the E-Government department
- National E-Government Master Plan
- A roadmap for e-government across all federal MDAs, developed with the Government of Korea. The department leads its rollout: simpler services, better experience for citizens and businesses, more engagement, more transparency.
- Government Service Portal
- One portal, services.gov.ng, for citizens, businesses and visitors to reach government services at any hour without travelling to an office.
- Government Contact Centre
- Government services and information by phone, for anyone regardless of location, literacy or language. It has created jobs and gives citizens a way to send ideas and feedback.
- Open Data Portal
- data.gov.ng, where MDAs publish non-sensitive data sets for the public, so citizens and businesses can use them in their decisions.
- Electronic Document Management System
- Government documents moved online: better information security, lower cost, automated processes and easier access.
- E-Government Capacity Building Programme
- Continuous service-wide training in e-governance. More than 2,000 public servants trained at federal and regional level.
- National E-Health Strategic Framework
- Developed with the Federal Ministry of Health: ICT for better care, lower administrative cost, faster access to health information and more productive health workers.
